Hanworth Park House is a ‘Building at Risk’ on the Historic England register of Listed Buildings. The scheme is an enabling development, EIA qualifying, and conceived in response to the risk of the complete loss of Hanworth House.

The scheme will allow for the saving of the House, and the future use of the house and gardens with 300 new residential homes of mixed tenure with 40% affordable housing directly for London Borough of Hounslow.

The project proposes an accessible, safe, sustainable, and enduring new residential neighbourhood in an established and mature parkland setting. The new neighbourhood will be focussed on the restored and regenerated Grade II Listed Hanworth Park House, which will itself be used for a variety of new employment, community and arts uses.

The neighbourhood will create new links to Hanworth Park and the design of external open space will encourage activity and sustainable transportation both within and beyond the site.

The neighbourhood is distinct in its layout deferring to a clear set of master planning principles controlling scale, built area, and typology. Furthermore, the appearance and materiality of the building is considered to sympathise and acknowledge the traditional materials of the house but to interpret these in appropriate contemporary forms.

The new homes are designed to meet the highest possible environmental sustainability standards and in accordance with London Plan and associated space standards.
