What has your journey into architecture looked like?
I completed my BArch degree at Manchester School of Architecture and spent some time at home in 2022, working at a property development company and enjoying the company of my cats. I then returned to Manchester and joined 5plus as a Part I in May 2023.

What have you enjoyed most about your time at 5plus?
The team at 5plus is a mix of wisdom and wit. The collaborative, sometimes quirky environment has been just right for my growth. Everyone’s ready to jump in with advice or lend a hand, making it an awesome place for my early career.

Was there anything you disliked about your time at 5plus?
I’ve had a bit of bad luck with technology since joining 5plus. It’s become a running joke, but it’s just one of those things!

What was your favourite project during your time at 5plus?
While I had the chance to work on many different projects and found them all enjoyable, Victoria Point was my standout favourite. It involved extensive problem-solving, on-site activities, and collaboration with another architectural practice. Working with Historic England and learning new software during this project also added an interesting layer to the experience.

What has been the most valuable thing you have learnt during your time at 5plus?
I’ve learned that architecture is a field of continuous learning and compromise.

What do you have planned next?
While I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my journey in architecture so far, I’m planning to take a gap year. I intend to travel with my cat and take some time to contemplate my future career direction.

Have a great time travelling (we’re not jealous at all!).
